BCCI didn’t name the team, misses the deadline for Champions Trophy

This made latest national news in India as BCCI ignored ICC. 25 April was the last day to declare the team list to ICC for the upcoming Champions Trophy. While all other seven countries have already declared their list, India has skipped the deadline and haven’t sent any list to the ICC.

On Tuesday, Pakistan and India were the two teams to come up with the list of playing squad. While Pakistan did the same, India didn’t show up to the World’s Cricket Body, ICC

India & ICC have never been in good terms and something has always been an issue of debate between the two. This time it is the decision of ICC to dissolve the Big Three nations deal and thus cut the share of global revenue of India. To this India already have shown their concerns and threatened ICC to quit the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The Champions Trophy is scheduled from 1-18 May in the United Kingdom. India is the part of Defending Champions.

Though, BCCI is not mulling on stepping out right away, but, it is being considered as a contemplated pressure move by the Indian board. Even, until late evening there was no extension sought from the International board which clearly indicates the defiance in the Indian Board.
However, some insiders quote that naming the list of the playing squad is nothing more than a formality because the selectors are already aware of whom to choose.

"Tell me one thing, if we name the squad, say for example on May 5, will ICC bar us from participation. We have a settled squad and naming it is a mere formality," a top BCCI official told PTI.

Indian Cricket Team members are playing in IPL right now and presenting a marvelous show. It is now to see how the equation between ICC & BCC goes further.

India –China come together to rescue19 Filipino crew members

Despite having strained diplomatic ties, the naval forces of the two countries, India & China came together for a mission and successfully rescued 19 Filipino crew members from a ship that was hijacked by Somali Pirates. It was a 10-hour standoff that earned the navies victory. The entire battle took place in the Gulf of Aden.

On Saturday night, the troop of Pirates stormed into MV OS35. It is a merchant's vessel and is registered in Tuvalu, a south Pacific island nation. The vessel was en route from Kelang in Malaysia to Aden in Yemen, a port city. Acting with brains, the entire board safe locked themselves in a safe room on the vessel itself and thus avoided any direct contact with the pirates.

Indian Navy was fast to respond to the distress call of the vessel and within hours, four Indian navy ships, Mumbai, Tarkash, Trishul, and Aditya reached the sight. The Indian navy also extended a quick aerial support to the vessel by the helicopters continuously hovering over the vessel until the pirates fled after a tough fled-off.

"The Indian warships established contact with the captain of the merchant's vessel, who, along with the crew, had locked themselves in a strong room onboard, as per standard operating procedures," A navy spokesperson told the leading Indian news source.

This joint operation was a success at the time of adversities in the relation of the two countries. China has already spoken ill about the visit of Dalai Lama to Twang, Arunachal Pradesh. Also the opposition by China to India for its NSG Membership and the blocking by Beijing against India's effort to declare JeM chief Masood Azhar a global terrorist.

The missile frigates of the Chinese navy along with an 18 member crew came into the scene soon.
"In a show of international maritime cooperation against piracy, a boarding party from the nearby Chinese Navy ship boarded the merchant ship, while Indian naval helicopters provided air cover. It has been established that all are safe," the spokesperson added.

Aadhar Card your access to a plane

The Government of India has asked the leading IT Company Wipro to develop a blueprint of an application that will link Aadhar card with the aerospace of India. Wipro has received the orders to make a blueprint of an Aadhar linked biometric app that will allow access to the flyers at all the airports in India. The report shall be submitted by Wipro in the early May and then all the airports will get the installation. This will mark the start of a new era as the passenger's thumb would be the only identification a flyer would require for any domestic travel. However, for international flights, passport remains the primary document.

The aviation ministry of India was contemplating the idea of linking Aadhar numbers and the online booking platform and thus initiating the biometric access portal for all the flyers entering the airport since long. The idea was put into paper and forwarded after a recent meeting between various airport operators and major airlines with aviation minister Jayant Sinha and aviation secretary R N Choubey.

"It was felt a joint system be developed that can be replicated by all airports. Wipro has been asked to develop a concept note in this regard after consulting all stakeholders, including the JV airport operators. We are seeing what all airport processes can be made e-enabled," Airports Authority of India (AAI) chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra told a leading Indian news source

The concept is that the passenger would provide his/her Adhaar number while booking the tickets, which will be further, linked with the biometric. "Once they reach the airport they are flying out of, flyers can just keep their thumb on touch pad at the entry point. Once inside, a similar process can be repeated at other places like check-in. We want passengers to have as seamless and effortless travel experience at airports as possible," Mohapatra said.

Currently, the flyers have to show a valid ID Proof along with their tickets to meet the security provisions.
