Terrors Felt in Northern and Eastern India- Alerts Issued

Last night, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake was experienced in Delhi and in the several states of North and Eastern India, which is the latest news in India. Shaking buildings, ratting window panes, and people rushing out of their homes and buildings were seen the previous night. There has been no report of any loss of life or damage to property. According to the National Seismological Bureau, the epicentre of the earthquake was Rudraprayag in Uttrakhand. The depth of the quake was predicted to be 33 Km and it occurred at 10.33 PM. Uttrakhand, falls in the Himalayan belt, which is prominent for high seismic activities. 

National Disaster Response Force sent two teams to Rudraprayah, but no signs of loss of life and property have been reported. Union Home Ministry said that they immediately sent two teams from Ghaziabad to Uttarakhand to carry out relief and rescue operations. It was quite a heavy quake and lasted for around 25 to 30 seconds. Senior Police Office of Dehradun- Ashok Kumar said that no reports of damage have been received. In North and Eastern India, panicky people rushed out of their homes and buildings. Tremors were also felt across Haryana, Punjab and their common capital Chandigarh. According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.6. 

Though no reports of loss of life and property have been received so far, but the earthquake has definitely put the people of India at alert. Moreover, alert has been issued in the areas which lies close to the Himalayan belt. People are asked to stay careful and immediately come out of their homes or buildings when they feel terror.
