Fusion Dance Form ‘Mithuna’ Conducted in Chandigarh- Latest Indian Art and Culture News

Dance lovers can look forward to the opportunity to dance and explore the world of fusion through Mithuna. It is the latest Indian art and culture news. It is an Indo French contemporary dance show, which provides fusion between two cultures and dance forms. Mithuna is originally a Sanskrit dance concept that contemplates gender, sex of words and sex of moments. It also showcases the contagion differences, fertile and creative seedling. The Mithuna dance form highlights the choreography of universal concept of violence and attraction between the genders. It also gives an insight to the joy of love and harmony to bridge the differences.

Mithuna is performed by three artists and is choreographed by Annette Leday/Keli. Leday is the choreographer and director of La Compagnie, who specializes in inter cultural contemporary creation. She focused on the dance traditions of India and France. She got actress training in France and then came to India in 1978 to study Bharat Natyam and Kathakali in Chennai. She thereafter also spent several years in rural Kerela where she practiced Kathakali.
Dance lovers got an opportunity to explore the fusion of two dance forms, Indian and French, whose fusion is called- Mithuna, in Chandigrah. The function was a huge success and people from nearby and far places came to eyewitness of the fun. Mithuna was presented at Alliance Francaise de Chandigarh in the close association with Delhi Public School on 6th October, 2016 at DPS auditorium, Chandigarh.

Mithua has been playing since Shakespeare time and more than 70 times in Asia and Europe. The fusion of two dance forms is getting prominence all over world and people have started accepting and enjoying it.
