Kangana Slams Bollywood Over Pay Disparity, says “The industry isn’t just made of 4 actors!”

KanganaRanaut is back in limelight and this time she has hit the most sensitive chord of Bollywood, Pay disparity. The actress, who has proved her mettle in acting, came forward to discuss the issue of pay disparity in Bollywood before the release of her upcoming film, Simran.

This is not the very first time when Kangana has made the headlines. She has been a hot topic for quite some time, No matter it is the Hrithik controversy or her film Simran’s story writing issues, the Queen fame actress has never hesitated to put her point out in the open.

Recently in a famous television show, Kanaga made a lot of revelations about her relationship with Hrithik. And once again she is back with a bang slamming the pay disparity in Bollywood. In fact, trolls have claimed her publicity hungry lady. Talking to leading newspaper daily Kangana said, why are we so wary of discussions and debate? I am told it’s bad PR, but I don’t quite understand that term.”

The Tanu Weds Manu actress has been a victim of pay disparity and thus has many things to say.
“There are women in the industry who say that if actresses are unable to bring in crowds (in a theatre) that a male star can, how can they demand equal pay. If we, as actresses, keep instilling this inferiority complex in girls, there is no hope for better times. Personally, my logic for remuneration has always been that I have 365 days to work, as much as any male star. An actor’s pay must be determined by the amount of work s/he does. Your gender is no yardstick for it. The industry isn’t just made up of four actors who have lasted through the decades. I might not have 30 years behind me. But in my 10 years, I’ve achieved significant milestones to demand a certain fee. Anybody’s film can fail and this year has shown us enough proof of that. So, let’s stop giving the opening (weekend) and closing logic.” She added.
